Since the acquisition of Thermaire and Ampair, ten months ago, ENGIE has undertaken a reorganisation to ensure that it meets the expectations of its clients in an efficient, seamless and timely manner. The organogrambelow showcases the optimised structure and reporting lines.
Gerhard Dirker has been appointed as Branch Manager – Projects in Gauteng and in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Neeraj Ramkissoon has been appointed as Branch Manager – KZN. There are no changes in Western Cape with Troy Fourie heading up the branch. Both Neeraj and Troy will report to Bobby Forbes.
The Company has established a Major Projects Division, headed up by Quinton Brent, which operates within and outside the borders of Southern Africa. Major Projects are classified as those projects in excess of 5 million Euros. At present, this division is operational at the Medupi and Kusile Power stations and the FISH hotel in Swaziland.
In addition, a Data Centre division has been created to leverage the expertise of ENGIE for the benefit of our local clients. This new division will be managed by Chris Braund.
The Ductshops in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town will be managed by Devon Govender, appointed as National Ductshop Manager. This new position has been created to ensure quality control, HSE, productivity, costing and overall standards are maintained to the same level at all the Ductshops.
The Service and Maintenance Division with branches in Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape will continue to be managed by Robbie Di Giovampaolo.
Thomas Palix, who has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer with focus on Procurement, QHSE and the liaison link with ENGIE, will report to JP Hargovan who remains as the CEO of the Thermaire and Ampair companies.
The brand names of Ampair, Improvair Environmental Solutions and Ductshops will continue to be used for the foreseeable future with the designation “A company of ENGIE” appearing on all company branding.
Engie has also introduced the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate and Transfer) concept into Southern Africa. BOOT is especially attractive to clients who require the key services within their building to operate without having to be technically involved in the day to day operating of their building. With BOOT, the Company can provide the full MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) scope of works service to the client.
Finally, a process of ISO certification has also been initiated for Thermaire and Ampair in order to lead the two entities to a combined Quality Management System.
